Short vs Long Term Rehab Programs at Crossroads

At Crossroads our minimum stay is 28 days and maximum stay 2 months

· Screening

· Treatment program

· Bio Report

· Medical Report

· Visit to Doctor

· Assessment for the individual needs

· Family session with counselor

· Individual counseling sessions

· Group counseling sessions

· Therapeutic groups

· 12 Step meetings

· Outing

We start off with screening and doing a assignment on the individual drug of choice the determine the best possible treatment program .

Gathering some background around the individual upbringing, family life and addiction through the Bio. To get a better understanding to the roots/core.

Our treatment program approach is through the 12 Steps on NA in the 28 days of treatment the client will do Step 1, Step 2 & Step 3 followed by his/her life story. Treatment goals is required as well as setting up goals for the outside. It helps them with taking responsibility and brings back the motivation to want to live a more productive life full of hope and faith.

Our long term program the client get to finish all 12 Steps with some privileges of going out on a Saturday and Sunday on a Day pass to slowly reimtergtate into society.

Three times a week we take them out 12 Step fellowship meetings to interact with people outside rehap that is also in recovery to motivate them further to continue the program after rehap.

Individual counseling sessions is done on a regular basis to build a relationship with the client, looking at their wants and needs and finding solutions to their problems in life. We help them build up their self esteem and self confidence as well as helping them to recognize their core values and beliefs. Group counseling sessions are very important as well to help to interact with others and to knowledge that they are not alone.

Our long term program is strongly suggested as it isn’t a quick fix and time is needed to break any denial and break old patterns.

Practicing Mindfulness to enhance recovery at Crossroads Rehabilitation Centre

29 October, 2025Articles, News

When recovering from addiction of any sort, mindfulness is one of the most crucial things to practice. Being mindful equips addicts in recovery with the ability to be present and emotionally aware. In a nutshell, mindfulness can be defined as living in the present moment whilst learning to manage any intrusive or negative thoughts. Like many successful rehabilitation centres, at Crossroads Recovery Centre, we make an effort to incorporate the practice of mindfulness into our rehabilitation programme. This is done mainly through meditation. Mediation is encouraged because when practiced regularly, it increases feelings of relaxation and reduces cravings and triggers among our clients. There are also other benefits of this, namely: decreasing feelings of anger; reducing anxiety; improving cognitive function; preventing and reducing depression; and lastly relieving stress. Therefore, practicing mindfulness can be a huge benefit in the addiction recovery process, not only mentally but also physically and spiritually. Crossroads Recovery Centre is the ideal place to practice mindfulness while in recovery and enhance your chances of a successful and sustainable recovery!

What to Expect from Detoxification at Crossroads Recovery Center

09 October, 2025Articles, News

What to Expect from Detoxification at Crossroads Recovery Centre

Detoxification, often called “detox,” is the first and most important step in the recovery journey. It is the process of safely removing harmful substances from the body while managing the physical and emotional symptoms that come with withdrawal. At Crossroads Recovery Center, detox is not just about getting clean, it’s about helping clients stabilize physically and emotionally, preparing them for the next phase of treatment.

Every person’s detox journey is different. That’s why, at Crossroads, each new client receives a comprehensive assessment by a nurse and general practitioner. This evaluation looks at the individual’s substance use history, mental health background, and medical condition. Based on this information, the medical team creates a personalized detox plan.

Some clients may require medical detox, where medication is used to ease withdrawal symptoms and ensure safety. Others may go through a non-medical detox, supported through rest, hydration, and constant monitoring by trained nursing staff. Throughout the process, nurses check vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, and may also be referred for blood tests for any underlying conditions.

Detox can feel overwhelming, both physically and emotionally. For this reason, Crossroads emphasizes compassionate care. Clients are encouraged to rest and recover, with the understanding that this stage is not about performance or productivity, it’s about healing. Family communication is often part of the process, ensuring loved ones are informed and reassured during this sensitive time. Clients are encouraged to participate in groups to get started with the process as quick as possible to promote healing.

It’s also important to understand what detox is not. It is not a quick fix, a magic pill, or a one-day cleanse. Detox doesn’t instantly erase the effects of addiction. Rather, it lays the foundation for long-term recovery. Many people mistakenly believe detox means the person is “cured” once the substance is out of their system, but addiction recovery involves addressing the underlying causes, behaviors, and emotional struggles that led to substance use in the first place. Detoxification is a vital starting point in the healing journey, but it’s only the beginning. At Crossroads Recovery Center, clients are supported by a team of professionals who understand that true recovery requires time, patience, and care. Detox helps clients regain physical stability and mental clarity, creating the foundation they need to fully engage in the therapeutic process that follows.
