Unlike traditional cocaine which is a white powder and most commonly snorted, &ldquo;the rock drug&rdquo; is more refined, it resembles a hard, white crystal-like plastic which is smoked with a glass pipe. The high does not last longer than 15-20 minutes and it is extremely intense, this produces extremely erratic behaviour related to the mental obsession for the next high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to know\nwhat to look for if you suspect someone is using crack cocaine.  Some\nitems that are common with rock users are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cut straws <\/li><li>Burnt tin foil <\/li><li>Glass pipes <\/li><li>Light bulbs <\/li><li>Cans with indents, burns or holes <\/li><li>Steel wool or copper gauze which is used as gauze <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you suspect someone of using &ldquo;the rock drug&rdquo;, there are physical signs for which to look out. These signs are a good indicator for potential rock use;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Dilated pupils\n\t<\/li><li>Burns on fingers and lips\n\t<\/li><li>Loss of appetite \n\t\n\t<\/li><li>Irregular sleep patterns\n\t<\/li><li>Frequent disappearances\n\t<\/li><li>Restlessness\n\t<\/li><li>Irritability\n\t<\/li><li>Aggression\n\t<\/li><li>Bizarre\/ uncharacteristic\n\tbehaviour  \n\t\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowing what to look for can make a huge difference in being able to help an individual that you have concern for. The use of crack cocaine in any amount is cause for concern. It is fast-acting, potent and highly addictive. The next fix for the rock drug addict takes priority above everything else and the long-term effects can detrimental to physical and mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you spot any of the above signs, it should be cause for concern.
